How it works

The score arrives
before the parcel

Verafo sits between the order and the shipment. It reads the phone number, resolves it against a buyer graph built from every connected store, and tells you what is likely to happen at the door while you can still do something about it.

Order placed Every checkout is captured the moment it happens. Nothing for you to do.
Phone resolved The number maps to one buyer profile holding history from every connected store.
Scored under 1s Buyer history and known patterns produce a risk score with a confidence level.
Checkout adapts Risky buyers lose cash on delivery. Everyone else sees the normal checkout.

Six steps

Six steps. One of them is yours.

Two minutes to install. After that the system runs itself and the only thing you touch is the decision on a flagged order.

  1. 01

    Install the app

One click from the Shopify App Store. No developer, no Shopify Plus, no theme edits, no code.

  2. 02

    Orders flow in automatically

Webhooks capture every new order the moment it is placed. You do nothing.

  3. 03

    Verafo scores the buyer

Before payment methods show at checkout, the phone number resolves to a buyer profile across the network.

  4. 04

    You get a verdict

SAFE, RISKY, or UNKNOWN. Plain language, with the signals that moved the score.

  5. 05

    COD is hidden or nudged

Risky buyers do not see cash on delivery. Everyone else checks out exactly as before.

  6. 06

    Every store makes it smarter

A buyer flagged at one store is scored before they order at the next. The graph compounds.

The scoring model

Prediction, not a blocklist

A blocklist can only say no to buyers somebody already caught. Verafo scores buyers nobody has ever seen before, by recognising which known behaviours they resemble.

A blocklist only knows the past

  • It can only refuse buyers that somebody already lost money on.
  • It says yes or no with no sense of how confident it is.
  • It has nothing useful to say about a first time buyer.
  • A buyer can move to a new phone number and start over clean.

A score works on the first order

  • It recognises behaviour patterns rather than matching names to a list.
  • It reports how confident it is, so you know when to trust it.
  • It still produces a verdict for a buyer nobody has ever seen.
  • It sharpens as more outcomes are recorded, at your store and across the network.

No waiting period

Scoring is useful from the day you install, before your store has any history of its own. There is nothing to train and nothing to configure first.

New buyers handled fairly

A buyer with no history is scored as UNKNOWN rather than risky, then reassessed as their own orders and outcomes accumulate.

Sub-second, by design

The score has to exist before the payment methods render. That is a hard latency budget, and Founder One carries it as a written guarantee.

The rules engine

You set the rules. Verafo enforces them at checkout.

Five rule types, all on one screen, and each one shows its expected impact before you save it. Nothing is decided behind your back.

By risk level

Hide COD for high-risk buyers only, or for both medium and high. The most common starting point.

By order value

Set a ceiling above which COD switches off. Large baskets carry the largest losses when they come back.

By area

Enter the postal codes and cities where refusals cluster in your own data. Address intelligence does the rest.

By product

Mark product types or collections that should always be prepaid. Some categories simply travel worse than others.

Repeat offenders

If a phone number has refused a delivery anywhere in the network, COD is hidden regardless of every other rule.

Onboarding takes three screens

Smart COD protection turns on with safe defaults, a transparency notice explains exactly what data Verafo reads and why, and a confirmation screen shows checkout is protected. You can fine tune from the Rules page at any point afterward.

That is the whole mechanism.

No new workflow to learn and nothing for your team to operate. Install it, set your rules once, and let it work quietly in the background.

The hard part

Knowing what actually happened at the door

Shopify marks an order fulfilled the moment it ships, not when the buyer pays for it. Treating those as the same thing would train the model on false labels, so Verafo collects real outcomes instead.

Two button marking

Accepted or refused, straight from the dashboard. Available from day one, costs nothing, and the dashboard prompts you when outcomes are pending.

Reconciliation matching

Upload courier reports or forward them by email, and Verafo reconciles them against your orders automatically so you do not have to mark anything by hand.

WhatsApp nudge

A short message asks the seller to confirm the outcome with a reply. Only structured metadata is used. Message content is never read, stored, or processed.

Historical import on day one

Upload past orders as a CSV so scoring does not start from zero. Phone number and store name are required. Category, product, price, quantity, address, city, order date, outcome and resolution date all sharpen the picture, and scores recompute automatically once the file lands.

One saved return in 30 days, or the next 90 days are free.

Ten minutes to install, thirty days to find out whether it paid for itself. If it did not save you a single cash on delivery return, the next 90 days cost you nothing.
